It's about a group of convicts on an airplane trying to scape to a better place, Clint Eastwood chose a spoon to scape from Alcatraz, these guys prefered a plane.
This movie is filled by an amazing cast, leaded by a long-haired Nicolas Cage, John Malkovich, John Cusack, Steve Buscemi and Danny Trejo (probably his most unpopular role ever, a rapist who pronunces his deadly line: "Un corazón para cada una de mis 23 marranitas.").
It has very likable characters, an entertaining story, a simple script that the only thing it wants to achieve is to sound bad ass in the voice of this dangerous guys, it's full of remarkable one-liners, it also has a predictable plot and enjoys of a soundtrack which feels accurate to the movie.
As an interesting detail, Simon West said: "Everybody was stripped to the waist all the time because it was so hot. There was competition over who could do the most pull-ups and push-ups." Then if you guys were a bit skeptical about if this is or not a macho movie, the director already removes your doubts: “You can imagine, it got pretty macho out there in the desert”.
I would encourage you to watch this piece, if you like this old action "macho" movies. Just give a check to the trailer if you want, this is the kind of trailers that really rock, not like the ones we see today, if after watching the trailer you still don't want to watch the movie, then, definately, it isn't for you.
