I am back!

The RETURN After a couple of months of no activity because of personal stuff, I am back again. I have been very busy these past months, then I had no energy to watch movies and even less to make a single small review... well you all know that it takes up neurons.  I will be watching more movies and posting daily content on Letterboxd and I will also be sharing some thoughts here. P.S. I'm very excited about Saw X , it will be released in a month, I can't wait for it.

A dose of revenge and love

 The Eagle (1925)

"My lady, you are as free, as you are beautiful - and that is very, very free!"

Today, it is time to talk about another American silent drama movie, I chose an early and less known one.

It's surely inspired by The Mark of Zorro (1920), a guy who uses a black mask to cover his face, I have no doubts.

The Eagle is about a lieutenant who serves the Russian army, after the Czarina adopted a special affection for him and the reception of a letter from his father, things went out of hand.

About the story it manages to be interesting, the course of the events is surrounded by an epic tone, it reminds the viewer to other "heroes" like Robin Hood or The Zorro. The score is mesmerazing, but the pacing is probably one of its problems, if it isn't the biggest, this movie drags a little bit and becomes tedious at parts.

There is something about this silent piece that I personally love, I find the characters amazing, the story and the musical accompaniments too, but sadly, it bored me.

Anyway, leaving all the flaws aside, I would highly recommend it, I think that it can be a good discovery for the ones who enjoy watching cinema and had not heard of it before.
