Harmony Korine, Gummo
Gummo (1997)
Hello everyone, yesterday, I posted a review of the documentary which exposes the situation that the protagonists of Kids went through. So today I bring here this classic directed by the one who made the script for Kids, Harmony Korine. Gummo was his movie debut as a director, two years after his leap to fame.
This is one of the weirdest movies ever made, it isn't about anything in special.
Gummo has a big essence of its own and that is something really good for a movie, that essence makes this piece unique, wheter you like it or not.
I personally didn't like this movie as a whole, there are a couple of ideas that I enjoyed, but there is a big part of it that I hate. I hate when entertaining content, like comedies or a person itself make fun of disabled people, and Gummo can make you sick about that.
This movie has a very big dark aura, looks like there was a maniac evilness behind the direction and the script.
I would encourage you to check this one because of how odd it becomes.
